I believe that the 66 books comprised of the Old and New Testament recognized as the Scriptures of the Protestant Denominations are the complete Christian cannon. I believe that Scripture was specifically revealed to us by God (2 Timothy 3:16). I believe that God, through inspiration, enabled men to author the books of Scripture without error in the original manuscripts, but still maintaining their own personal liberties within the text for our instruction (2 Tim 3:17; 2 Pet 1:21). I believe that Scripture is governed by God’s absolute authority over creation and God is where it derives its truth (John 17:17).

I believe that God is omnipotent (Jeremiah 32:27), omnipresent (Hebrews 13:5), and omniscient (Psalms 139:1-6}.  I believe that God exists as Trinity, one in essence existing as three distinct persons. I believe that the Father (Psalm 103:19), Son (John 10:30), and Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17) are the three persons which comprise the Godhead of the Trinity. I believe that God has willed that creation be reconciled to Him, by Him, and through Him.

I believe that Jesus Christ is both fully man and fully God (John 1:1, 14). I believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:20). I believe that Jesus Christ lived and died without sin (Hebrews 4:15). I believe that Jesus Christ was falsely accused, found faultless, and innocently put to death (John 10:18). I believe Jesus Christ’s death on the cross was a complete and sufficient sacrifice in order to redeem humanity and reconcile mankind to God (Isaiah 53:5-6). I believe Jesus Christ was buried after death and rose on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:1-8). I believe Jesus Christ continued His ministry and then ascended to the right-hand of God the Father with the intention to return again to fulfill prophecy and renew the heavens and the earth (Acts 1:3-9).

I believe that the Holy Spirit is not the Father and not the Son. I believe the Holy Spirit is referred to as a “He” in scripture and should be thought of as such. I believe that the Holy Spirit was sent after Christ’s ascension in order to come along side the brethren on earth in order to proclaim Christ to the world (2 Thessalonians 2:7). I believe it is by the guidance and drive of the Holy Spirit that pricks the hearts of men bringing them to a point of contrition in which they have sorrow over sin and come to the Lord in repentance (John 16:8-11).

I believe that men and women were created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26). I believe that the disobedience of Adam and Eve was what marred the image of God on all their offspring and why we are separated from God (1 Corinthians 15:22). I believe that mankind is completely depraved and completely dead in their sins (Rom 3:23). I believe that sin has affected men and women both spiritually and physically. I believe that sin has affected all of creation from the weather to the beasts of the field. I believe that upon birth men and women are subject to the sin nature and are condemned before God (Romans 5:12-21). I believe that sin is why men and women die and spend eternity in torment.  I believe that the punishment of sin is death and that this death is both physical and spiritual.

I believe that salvation is by God, through God, and from God. I believe that salvation is by grace through faith. I believe that first a person is justified, which requires nothing of them than a humble heart towards God, then they are sanctified which is a process that the newly converted will continue through until death when they are completely sanctified (Matt 18:3;  Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28). I believe that repentance is a decision first made in the mind, then the heart, then manifests itself in action, thought, word, and deed. I believe that upon repentance the spirit of man is regenerated and created anew. I believe that once a person puts their trust in Jesus Christ for their salvation their eternal destination is secure (John 3:16; Acts 16:31).

I believe that the Church is the bride and Jesus Christ is her bridegroom. I believe the term “Church” applies to all those who call on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation (2 Timothy 2:19). I believe that church structures are buildings in which the true Church meets to worship God and edify one another (1 Corinthians 1:2). I believe that spiritual gifts persist to this day and will continue to manifest themselves until the return of Christ. I believe that communion and baptism are testimonies both to the world and to the brethren of a regenerate person who depends on Christ for salvation and hope (Acts 8:12). I believe that baptism should be performed as an outward proclamation of an inward transformation. I believe that communion should take place regularly, but believers should only take communion if there is peace among them (1 Corinthians 11:27-29). I believe communion should take place as a remembrance of Christ and His work on the cross (Matthew 26:26-29).

I believe in Christ’s unknown return (John 14:3). I believe in the resurrection of unbeliever and believers. I believe that unbelievers will be resurrected at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ. I believe that unbelievers will be judged according to their works, when found lacking they will be cast into the lake of fire along with Satan for all eternity (Revelation 20:13). I believe that the dead in Christ will be drawn to Him prior to the 1000 year reign. I believe that at the end of the 1000 year reign there will be a judgment for believers in which rewards will be delegated (Luke 19:17, 19). I believe that regardless of reward, believers will be full of joy to enter into eternity with their Creator, Lord, and Savior.
